Hi Travel Massive community,
I’m Kate and I co-founded Time2Pack (iOS App) alongside my partner Alex after a trip that didn’t go quite as planned. Back in 2022, we took a last-minute getaway and ended up forgetting key items - a mishap that cost us around €200 and lost us an entire day scrambling to replace things.
That experience stuck with us. We thought, “There has to be a better way to plan trips so nothing gets left behind - and everything’s organized in one place.” Motivated by that, we built Time2Pack, launching the app in January 2023 .
At first, Time2Pack focused on smart packing lists tailored to your destination, trip length, and activities - helping travelers avoid the pre-trip stress we felt. Since then, it’s grown into a full travel companion: you can track flights, store travel documents and notes, view weather forecasts, and even organize trip photos. It's become a go-to app for travelers who want simplicity and control.
Starting October 1 last year, we made the app almost entirely free, keeping only the flight tracking feature under a paid plan. We wanted Time2Pack to be accessible to as many travelers as possible - no ads, no login, just a tool that helps people enjoy their trips without stress.
We’d love your feedback! Try it out at time2pack.app
Thanks,
Kate
Very nice! What's your API/data source for the flight tracking data?
Thanks!
We started using Amadeus last year, but had many problems with finding the correct flights - with finding the correct flights for multi-leg itineraries. We reported these issues, but nothing was fixed, so we decided to switch to another provider.
We had a long list of important cases to test, so we tried almost all available APIs to find the best one. Since we spent a lot of time (and personal money) on this, we prefer not to share the final choice just yet :)
Sounds great! What's the timeline on the Android app? 😀
Hi Jared!
We're aiming to publish Android app next year, as we're currently focused on building out the fullest iOS version first - we have a lot of exciting features on our roadmap. Once that’s solid, we’ll work on bringing it to Android!
Good to know, thanks.
This looks really cool!
That auto generated packing list is pretty cool and extensive.
Thanks, Caroline!
Yes, we’ve spent a lot of hours making it as complete as possible - but travelers can still easily add their own items, like specific medications, detailed clothing (blue T-shirt, white shorts, etc.), or anything else they need. And the best part - they can reuse those personalized lists for future trips, saving time on customization!
Hi Kate, thanks for sharing Time2Pack with the Travel Massive community!
I know packing guides were popular traffic sources for blogs (a few people I know did really well from these!), so it makes sense that there's strong demand for a packing app.
Do you have any interesting statistics or insights on what people are packing? It could even be interesting to segment the data and show what's different between various nationalities. Maybe you already do that, but just an idea.
Waiting for the Android version!
Best,
Ian
Hi Ian,
Thank you so much for your support!
Packing statistics would definitely be interesting to explore, but we have a strict policy of respecting user privacy - we don’t stick our noses into anyone’s suitcase! In other words, we don’t collect any personal data or see what specific items are packed or added.
Our analytics are purely technical. For example, we might see that a user with an anonymized ID like A1B2C3 completed packing (e.g. packed 45 out of 80 items, added 3 custom items (category: Documents 1, Clothes 2), errors: 0). This kind of data just helps us spot bugs and understand which features are most used.
The only statistic I could calculate is which nationalities tend to overpack. But even that would be wildly inaccurate, as we don’t collect trip purpose or destination, which makes a huge difference. So for now, we’ll leave the stereotypes to the travel blogs!
