tmatic.travel is your personal and free audio guide in more than 5000 cities and 4000 museums of the world. Audio guides are created by the city tourists offices and museums themselves, so they contain the most reliable information.
We decided to create an interactive map showing all 25,000+ guides!

Hi! My name is Egor, I'm the founder of the audio guide platform tmatic.travel (formerly known as izi.TRAVEL).
A while ago, we ran into a funny problem — we ended up with too many audio guides. For example, 50+ in Berlin, 100+ in Rome, 200+ in Amsterdam...
Of course, that’s a good thing, because all the guides are different: on different topics and in different areas, for children and adults, in different languages, for those who explore the city on foot or during a morning jog.... But even with lots of filters, choosing the right one can still be frustrating.
That’s we decided to create an interactive map showing all 25,000+ guides! And not just their starting points, but their full routes with all the stops. It allows you to pick a tour based on how close it starts to your hotel, where it ends, how densely filled with stories, whether it goes through wide streets or tiny hidden alleys... And even if the tour is for a museum, you can enter it straight from the map and listen to stories about the exhibits.
🎧 I'd love for you to try it out at tmatic.travel and and let me know what you think.
And maybe even find something interesting for your next walk — even in your own city :)
A few more fun facts about tmatic.travel:
• It’s a free and open platform where anyone (yes, even you!) can publish their own audio guide. Today, we have over 70,000 registered authors from around the world.
• We allow (and actually encourage) authors to distribute their guides for free — that way, more people can listen. That’s why thousands of museums, tourist offices, brands, etc. use our platform. Offering a free audio guide actually helps them sell more tickets or merchandise.
• About 95% of all content is completely free. The rest is available through an affordable Premium Access (e.g. €10 for unlimited access for vacation period).
• The platform includes not just walking and museum tours, but also audio guides for cars, bikes, trains, boats, and more.
• All content is accessible via an API, which allows third-party apps and services to use it. For instance, some car navigation systems now tell stories along the road, and voice assistants guide visitors through museum exhibitions.
• We have a flexible partner program. Mobile operators, travel agencies, museums – even souvenir shops – earn on selling audio guides (sometimes even offline and for cash).
Hi Egor,
Thanks for sharing, this is a very cool and innovative project you've developed!
I was browsing around cities I know, and listening to a few guides in various locations. Is it possible to access a street view and listen to the guide? It could be a bit hit and miss but might make it fun for virtual tours.
What are your next plans for the service? And what kinds of people in the community do you want to connect with?
Hi Ian,
Thanks so much for your kind words and for checking out the project!
Great idea about the virtual tours — during the COVID times, we actually experimented with video-based tours using Street View in a few destinations. Unfortunately, Google’s Street View API has some limitations that make a full integration tricky at scale, but the idea is still on our roadmap and we hope to bring it to life someday. It definitely has great potential for remote exploration.
As for our next steps — we’re currently preparing for the next funding round to develop the following:
- AI-powered tools for our CMS, to help tour creators write stories faster, adapt them for different audiences and languages, and enhance creativity rather than replace it. While many platforms focus on replacing human storytellers with AI, we believe in empowering local experts to create even richer, more diverse content.
- Expanding from audio guides to travel itineraries. Our biggest value is the global community of thousands of travel experts. Guided tours are just one side of their knowledge — many of them are amazing trip planners too. So we're working on a feature where travelers can access multi-day itineraries curated by locals (e.g. “5-day road trip through Bavarian castles”), complete with museum tips, nature spots, hotels, restaurants — and enriched with our existing audio guides. Eventually, travelers will be able to contact the itinerary creator to tailor it for their needs or even get real-time help during the trip from a local expert.
- And of course, we're continuing to build and support our community of authors!
In terms of the Travel Massive community, we’d love to connect with:
- Partners interested in enhancing user experience in their own products by integrating audio content from tmatic. We’ve built an API that gives access to tens of thousands of tours and hundreds of thousands of curated location-based stories — all ready to enrich apps, platforms, or devices with immersive storytelling.
- Partners who want to experiment with distributing Premium access to the world’s largest collection of audio guides via their own sales channels. We offer a flexible toolkit for this — including options for online, in-app, or even offline sales (e.g. via QR stickers or physical cards with no tech integration needed).
- Travel experts who’ve long been looking for a way to turn their local knowledge into mobile guides through storytelling — our platform is designed for them.
- Investors and accelerators focused on travel, AI tools, or the creator economy — we’re actively preparing our next round and happy to talk.
