I'm a freelance travel writer, author and photographer. I work for a number of publications, including National Geographic Traveler, American Way, Imbibe, Virtuoso Life, Travel & Leisure, Robb Report and Hemispheres. My focus is cocktail, bar and food coverage, interesting personality profiles and absurd travel moments. The latter happen often, given my knack for getting lost.
I was the bar columnist for the Miami Herald's travel section from 2008 - 2015, I've written two books on New Orleans, and I have a deep and abiding love for every Water Buffalo I've ever seen.
Originally from Alabama, I now call Manhattan home when it's warm and Southeast Asia when it's not. I've spent my last seven winters in abroad from January until April - specifically Cambodia, Manila and Bangkok. I'm available for projects in both writing and photography - including but not limited to magazine and newspaper articles, online features, blogs, press releases, marketing materials, web site image and copy creation.
I'm a freelance travel writer/photographer and I'd love to connect with others in this industry
