Join us for the official Pitch Event and Award Ceremony of the Social Entrepreneurship in Tourism Competition 2021!

The Competition received 132 wonderful applications from social entrepreneurs all over the world – be there when the 10 finalists pitch their initiatives.

The finalists all tackle various social or environmental problems and are finding ways to achieve greater equity – from a platform tailored to disabled travelers, to a program incentivizing visitors to keep a destination free of cigarette butts, we'll hear from 10 founders presenting their initiatives.

🌎 About the Competition

The Social Entrepreneurship in Tourism Competition is the first worldwide competition focusing on social innovation and entrepreneurship in tourism. It aims to address problems that are caused through tourism development and tries to find the best solutions to be implemented by the industry, governments, NGOs or local communities.

The structure of the competition follows the United Nation’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which include gender equality, sustainable cities and communities, and climate action.

The competition was founded by Professor Dr. Claudia BrΓΆzel and is supported by TUI Care Foundation, SINA (Social Innovation Academy), UNWTO, ITB Berlin, the University for Sustainable Development Eberswalde, and Travel Massive.
