I discovered a passion for tourism and how it can be designed and managed in a way that benefits a place and its people in the best way possible. More specifically, ways in which governance and policy can regulate developed tourism systems to mitigate impacts and advance sustainable practices; marketing and educational strategies that can reinforce the sustainable/responsible travel of visitors; management and protection of a destination's cultural and environmental resources; inclusion of stakeholders and community members to maximise participation and consideration within the tourism systems function.
