I've made my living as a travel journalist and photographer for over 20 years and have logged a gazillion miles gallivanting around some 70 countries in the process. A German native, I lived in Los Angeles for 20 years and now make my home in Berlin. I'm primarily a Germany destination expert but also have extensive knowledge about Dubai/United Arab Emirates as well as Crete, California and various Caribbean islands.I'm a quick study and need little time to immerse myself and find the authentic experience.

Most of my work has been on guidebooks for Lonely Planet (around 85 so far), but I've also written for National Geographic, Michelin and other international publishers. Add to that hundreds of articles in print and online, magazine editing, travel consulting, developing content for travel apps...
