The question isn’t how AnneLise became a travel writer, but how could she not? She was born in Germany and two weeks later had embarked on her first international flight – to Cairo. She grew up in North Africa, Southeast Asia (first pet was a coconut crab) and Europe (mother is Catalan, father Danish), before alighting in California to attend UC Berkeley, a country unto itself. Since then, AnneLise has written – and wine-tasted – her way around the world, contributing to a variety of outlets, including New York Magazine, Conde Nast, Gourmet, Time Out, NBC, and CNN. She is the author of Top 10 Barcelona, as well as Rough Guides to Spain, Canada, and Belize, and a co-writer of the inspirational tome Make the Most of Your Time on Earth. AnneLise is a host of the lecture and web series, Travel Transforms, on how travel can be a catalyst for change in your life. She has also taught travel writing for the last decade, leading popular workshops and classes from Barcelona to New York City.
