Hello there! I founded Frying Pan Adventures, Dubai's first food tour company along with my sister Farida back in 2013. We design food walks around showing people the simpler, down-to-earth, delicious side of the city we have grown up in.
I'm an old Dubai soul! I grew up in Deira (and still live in the same place from 1983!) but spent nine years in the U.S. for my undergraduate and MBA at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. After a 3 year stint in management consulting in New York, I returned to Dubai in 2010 to work in the family business. As I started reconnecting with the city, I started a food blog called I Live in a Frying Pan, which eventually transformed into my current food tour business. I truly believe in using food as a lens for street-side discovery, community understanding, food history and even etymology.
I'd love to connect with fellow travel professionals in Dubai - had a great time meeting a few members (thanks to Gary!) on a food tour we did for TM.
Really don't have one - but Malaysia, Georgia and Iran were definitely highlights!
