I am a freelance travel journalist based in East Texas who focuses on family and multi-generational travel. I focus on writing and photography. I have been published in four previous niche print magazines (total of 15 articles in nine issues). However three of them do not have their print articles online. These magazines include The Teaching Home magazine, Christian Woman magazine, and Power for Today magazine. I do have photographs of the covers and my articles on the pages if needed.
The fourth publication with my research article inside can be found at txate.org/assets/pdf-files/forum/2015/2015-forum-vol5-final.pdf Please keep in mind that the table of contents is incorrect. However, the article is entitled “Absent Texas Teachers: Reasons and Revelations” and is found on pp. 18-32. I have also had various articles and photographs published in two separate local newspapers over a period of about three years.
In the past, I have taught biology at the college level, biology at the high school, and math at the middle school level. I have also been a policewoman, a volunteer firefighter, and a paramedic. My two daughters are grown, married, and one has two children (ages 1 and 4). We have 2 dogs and 2 cats at home.
