As founder of the boutique marketing consultancy JDA Communications, Jennifer has more than 20 years of experience working with global brands and companies, offering businesses solutions to some of the most complex communication and marketing challenges.
JDA Communications specializes in travel, hospitality, lifestyle and destination marketing with additional expertise in global, multicultural and U.S. Hispanic marketing. Jennifer’s successful career in travel and hospitality was cemented during her 13 years as the global communications lead for the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau (GMCVB). Under Jennifer’s leadership, the Miami brand grew its public relations network to nearly 20 global markets including emerging markets in China and India. Jennifer created the experiential marketing program that took the Miami and South Beach brands on the road to marquee events such as Sundance Film Festival, Coachella, SXSW, and Fashion Week in NY, London and Mexico City. Jennifer also led crisis communication and issues management for Miami and was instrumental in strategy development for recovery efforts during COVID-19, Zika, and the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. Jennifer’s expertise in destination marketing and the travel industry has afforded her the opportunity to serve on the Communications Committee for The U.S. Travel Association and the Communications Task Force for Brand USA, the tourism board for the United States.
Jennifer’s experience brokering brand collaborations has offered an effective way to expand customer reach for companies such as Frito-Lay and Universal Pictures during her time leading retail marketing promotions for Del Monte Fresh. Her experience in lifestyle marketing and U.S. Hispanic initiatives were instrumental while leading multicultural marketing strategy for fashion brand, Perry Ellis International where she introduced new apparel brands for the Hispanic market in collaboration with retailers such as Macy’s.
Jennifer’s marketing expertise led to innovative Hispanic campaigns for global, consumer-packaged goods company, Unilever. Jennifer also led Hispanic public relations programs for Miller Brewing Company and Lincoln-Mercury as the head of the Burson-Marsteller US Hispanic practice in Chicago. Jennifer has extensive experience working with the Latin American market and led pan-regional communication efforts for GlaxoSmithKline, AstraZeneca and Merrill Lynch in the Americas.
Jennifer Diaz-Alzuri has an MBA in International Business from The University of Miami and splits her time between the mountains of Greenville, South Carolina and the beaches of Miami, Florida.
