I like to travel, write, and I love big dogs. Travel writing lets me focus on the things I love: art, history, culture, architecture, food and wine, and meeting people from other places. I want to hear other people’s perspective, know their history, how they live and why.
Once upon a time, I had a “real” job. Now, I'm just a published travel writer. No more real paychecks for me but, my life's unlimited – it’s work, mind you. But, I go where I want to go, when I want! I travel, take photographs, enjoy food and wine, and write about my adventures. Because that’s what every day is – an adventure. I have an apartment in Bogotá, Colombia where I spend at least half the year.
I've been through the United States, Europe, Canada, the Caribbean, and Central America. I’m touring South America now. Next on my agenda: destination unknown. Oh, and, Portugal, I haven't been to Portugal yet.
Sometimes, I travel solo, even though I may not speak the language or know anyone when I arrive: I always have an abundance of new friends by the time I leave. My address book is now filled with names, addresses, and phone numbers from places around the world.
I am a member of Travel Media, The Association of Travel Writers, The International Travel Writers and Photographers Alliance (ITWPA), Women Traveling South America Writers Group and more. I've now attended travel-writing conferences in places I'd never been before.
I've been a blue-water sailor all my life; enjoy blues, jazz, well, just about any music. I like gourmet cooking, Broadway musicals, and live theater. I root for Los Angeles Angels and Boston Red Sox baseball, and UCLA football.
I’m crazy for unknown, out-of-the-way places. Inquisitive, curious, adventurous, and often getting lost; I am an adventurer at heart. That will be me: asking questions, smiling, and wandering purposefully.
I travel, eat, drink, experience life and write about it.
