Blending two of my loves equals heaven. I have been traveling since I was 3 months old. My father, an immigrant from Germany, loved exploring his new home by car. Each summer we went to places he wanted to travel - be it road trips to various U.S. National Parks or internationally to Germany and the Caribbean. My most momentous trip came in January of 2010 when I accompanied my mother on a visit her place of birth after being gone for 50 years, Guantanamo Cuba. It was this trip that solidified my desire to tell my story and my family's story through writing memoir. I am currently working on a book-length manuscript of that trip which also goes into my relationship with my mother. As that project continues I am going to dive into the deep end of the travel writing profession. Because why not! I hope to follow me on my adventures.
