Scott Kidder is the Chief Operating Officer of The Points Guy, one of the largest travel and credit card sites on the web. Owned by publicly traded Bankrate, The Points Guy reaches over 3 million people a month and helps people travel around the world for cheap. As COO, Scott oversees revenue, technology & product, data and analytics, and whatever else he sticks his nose in.
Previously, Scott was Chief Operating Officer for leading digital publisher Gawker Media, which published its characteristically authentic news and discussion to over 100 million readers each month. The company was the owner of beloved media brands Gizmodo, Deadspin, Lifehacker, and Jezebel, among others. Scott joined the company in 2005 and helped it grow from a small band of bloggers to an internationally known and widely influential modern media company.
As COO, Scott oversaw global operations, including finance and analysis, people and culture, facilities, special projects. Prior to that, Scott spent many years across a variety of operational roles.
Scott also serves as Business Lead for music discovery site The Hype Machine, leading finance, legal, operations and monetization efforts.
Scott was named to Forbes’ Media 30 Under 30 in both 2011 and 2012, as well as 2011’s Business Insider’s Silicon Alley 100.
Scott is an avid traveler and a graduate of New York University.
