About me

* Communicator * Creative * Global Idealist *

Growing up, the travel I experienced was regional and all by car, whether visiting family + friends out of state, camping in the forests of Pennsylvania, or venturing to Maine or the Carolinas for a more extensive getaway.

My first international flight was a big one: I went to Japan to teach English. The awe I felt as the plane descended toward Narita Airport took my breath away.

Since then, I've spent 20+ years transforming affluent audiences into brand loyalists, 15 of those years focused on travel and hospitality, luxury in particular. I have an essence-of-the-story mindset that drives messaging aimed at moving people closer to transformative, authentic experiences.

I launched Apricate Communications, an independent consultancy, to give clients deeply personal attention toward helping them discover their brandโ€™s most compelling narratives, and to help people discover what inspires them.

Why did you join the community?

I want to join because I believe in the power of community to inspire people to connect to the world.

What is your favorite travel destination?

After a year of not traveling, writing this in March 2021, I have to say that my favorite travel destination is any travel destination where I can discover joy through nature, culture, and the perfect blend of relaxation and exploration.

Where do you dream of traveling to?

Right now? I just dream of traveling, period.

What was your first travel job?

My first travel job was working in a hotel restaurant when I was 15. I was a server on the breakfast shift for a summer, at a budget hotel near an interstate. True story.

What do you want to learn more about?

I want to learn more about people's specific stories of resilience and perseverance.

Three words that describe why we should travel?

Discovery. Connection. Beauty.
