Born in the Austrian Alps, I caught the travel bug early on. As a ballet-fanatic teen I chased a career that would move me further and further away from home – first to Vienna, then Munich, Cologne and, eventually, London. The ballet career didn’t quite pan out as planned but the urge to live abroad and soak up different cultures stuck. In my twenties I hopped from France and Spain to the Bahamas, USA, Cuba and Mexico before returning to London where a chance encounter threw me into the mad world of PR – first fashion, then luxury travel. In between I fell in love with a South African and discovered a passion for travel and lifestyle writing, which is how I ended up as a content creator in Cape Town. These days I write for a variety of publications in South Africa, the UK and Germany, and get to explore the African continent for a living – usually with my husband and two sons in tow.
