Travel Massive Bangkok returns with our second “How I Built This” evening!
We have invited entrepreneurs in Bangkok to share stories of how they built their businesses.
Each has come from a different background and each has taken a different path to reach where they are today. But each of them has managed to create something special and unique.
We will be hosting a panel with a Q&A. Our speakers are:
Marc Ruffet
Born and raised in Switzerland, Marc moved to Thailand in 2007 as Environmental Consultant for the United Nations. Marc naturally came up with the idea of an integrated platform for guide management, after noticing that operation departments were too often neglected by existing travel software applications. Based on his proven experience, his technical knowledge and his extended regional network, Marc has been leading the project from day one, formulating the company’s vision and defining its development strategy.
Izzi Guide
The first app where tour guides and tour operators connect.
Jacob Holder
Jacob Holder’s thirst for culture started years ago when he graduated college and bought a one-way ticket to Spain to do something every parent dreams for their child -- wash dishes in a restaurant. This, however, grew into a hunger to see the world and led to another 10 years of cultural immersion in Chile, Portugal and Italy before he came to Thailand.
Originally from Texas, Jacob arrived in Bangkok from Rome as a ‘trailing spouse’. Very shortly thereafter, in 2013, he co-founded Taste of Thailand Food Tours, a walking food tour in Bangkok that provides small groups of guests an intimate window to Thai history, culture and people through food. Bangkok is truly a sprawling metropolis. Around every corner there is something new and exciting to discover. Jacob and his team of Thai guides love exploring the backstreets in search of culinary treasures and hidden gems with unique people and stories behind them. They truly share a local’s Bangkok with all who visit.
While not eating his way around Bangkok, Jacob enjoys travelling, good company, learning Thai and never says no to a turn on the dance floor.
