Travelling through and with social media with Top Instagramer Jörg Nicht @JN
Travelling seems more popular than ever. Low cost airlines basically invite you to go on a holiday with fares as cheap as never before. The world comes closer and what used to be a long trip away seems just around the corner now.
However, travelling and destinations change by the influence of social media. Nowadays a destination is not only chosen by factors like sunshine or the price of the ticket but also by its potential to share the journey on social media, particularly Instagram.
At the same time, we sit at home and scroll through our feeds, another way of modern travelling. We scroll through breathtaking pictures and spectacularly photographed and beautiful places – awakening longings and desire!
What once meant sitting and browsing through magazines and books is now right in our pockets, the entire day.
But the question is, how is this changing us and our perception of the world with all the stunning destinations? How are we even travelling if we constantly report to our loved ones at home? Are we still travelling?
Jörg Nicht lives in Berlin. He works as a photographer for clients like BMW, Google and Visit Estonia and just like 500k followers can see, he gets around a lot. He shares his own work and journey on Instagram (@jn).
Let’s view this topic through his lens on the 7th of August at 7.30 pm.
Cant wait to see you there!
