I’m Umang, co-founder at GO2ANDAMAN.com.
When I first came up with the idea to start this platform, it stemmed largely from a need to bridge an information gap, wherein there was next to no updated information available online for travellers heading to the Andamans. So, when we started out, we were purely a content platform. But we’ve since evolved to include Andaman-centric products, most notably our ferry booking page where you can find all private ferries plying across the Andamans.
The Andamans has always been a niche, low-key travel spot but that has changed in the last 8-10 years and the need for such a platform has only increased. The idea is for travellers to the Andamans to be able to find the most updated information and the best products on the island in one place, without having to look elsewhere.

What are the main source destinations for the Andamans, and have there been any noticeable travel trends in the past year in regards to tourism and style of travel?

Andamans as a destination majorly caters to domestic leisure market right now - families & honeymoon holidays.
< 5% of the total market is inbound as per latest available tourism stats.
Over the last 2 years, we have noted a correlation between demand & lowering cases of COVID in our side of the world.
Between '21 & '22 we see a difference. In '21 during the monsoon low season (may-sept), demand was still strong owing to pent up demand post 2nd wave & other international destinations still shut for indian travellers. This year in '22 however, demand in our low season is weak as travellers are considering more destinations especially in SEA region.
However, our demand from Sept'22 onwards stays strong.
