After a long break from in-person events, Hoi An and Da Nang active chapter members got together to discuss the future of tourism in Vietnam.
The event recap is written by Natalya Smolenskaya, Co-Founder of SecretEATS Experiences and a Chapter Leader of Travel Massive Hoi An / Da Nang.
Over a cup of coffee, chapter members from Hoi An and Da Nang discussed the current state of the travel industry in Vietnam and globally, shared the updates on their businesses and ideas on supporting each other during the time of crisis. The meetup was held at the Art Space part of Anantara Hoi An Resort.
Anantara representatives Ly Bui and Kate Jones shared how they managed to keep over 90% of their employees by successfully refocusing on the domestic market. They have been offering various attractive deals and even changing small details like beer brands in their minibars to meet the preferences of Vietnamese tourists.
Kenneth Rasmussen, the owner of Vietnam Rejser – a DMC working with Danish customers, is not changing his focus to the domestic market but instead using the break to redesign his company website.
SecretEATS has started online cocktail experiences that have currently replaced the in-person ones.
Gregory Zeleny, hospitality marketer and Travel Massive Co-leader, and Travis Hodges, photographer and marketing specialist, shared updates on the state of the hospitality industry in the Central Vietnam area.
Altogether, they have come up with some interesting ideas for future events – stay tuned not to miss the next one!
