Over the past year, the global travel industry has been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic, with widespread travel restrictions and a decrease in consumer demand leading to a significant drop in tourism. This has also had a major impact on the world of travel blogging, with many bloggers finding it difficult to continue their travels and document their experiences for their followers.
Before the pandemic, travel blogging was a popular and lucrative activity for many people. Bloggers would travel to different destinations, document their experiences through writing, photography, and video, and share their content on social media and their own websites. Some bloggers even turned their passion for travel into a full-time career, working with travel brands and creating sponsored content.
However, with the onset of the pandemic and the resulting travel restrictions, many bloggers found themselves unable to continue their travels as they had before. Many were forced to cancel their plans...

Hi you all, I am Inge a travel blogger, journalist & content creator from Belgium, Europe. I was wondering if anyone else is going to IFTM in Paris?
Hi Inge, I live in Paris but will actually be out of town during IFTM this year! :( I did go to IFTM a few years ago. I assume that being from Belgium, your French is much better than mine. For me, I struggled a bit at IFTM to have professional conversations in French, and my company's target market is in the US so I haven't gone the last year or two. I hope you have a great conference though! Sorry my reply is not very helpful; maybe at the very least it can boost it and encourage other people to reply.
Hilary
Thanks Hilary, will be polishing my French! I have mostly meetings with japan, so assume they will be in English?
Honestly, I would check. Normally it's safe to assume people in the travel industry speak English, but IFTM is *very* French-focused and, at least when I was there a few years ago, I was surprised at how many people didn't (or didn't want to) speak in English. It sure tested my French!
It's not very international if they don't speak English!
hahah - welcome to France! (Kinda joking, kinda not.) Again, this is all based on only my personal experience a few years ago. I had a MUCH harder time in English than anticipated... to the point where I stopped going, since our website is in English and we target Americans so any partner we work with needs to be able to operate in English, too. Definitely could have changed since I went!
True, I hope people of the Japanese booths will speak English? My French is ok but English is much better!
