My media career began in 1988 on Fleet Street at Express Newspapers, days before computers and the internet! I quickly earned the nickname Property Queen, by regularly hitting targets. I then joined the Mirror in 1992 which was a great experience working with a dynamic team. However, in 1997 my role in travel at The Mail on Sunday enabled me to craft my skills, in building strong and lasting relationships. My first travel conference was a definitive moment at ABTA in Cairns 1999. 20 years at the Mail, gave me so many opportunities, hosting at awards, and at numerous events. I organised most of our legendary lunches/dinners at the ABTA and ITT conferences. My proud achievements include, Salesperson quarter/year 2004 at the Mail on Sunday and in 2007 at the Daily Mail. I also pride myself on organising one of the best TravelMole Web Awards in 2019 (not my words!). Recently, I joined BAME Women in Travel networking events including “Lunch and Learn” – where I shared my tips on social networking and will continue to support them. As a committee member for the new Special Interest Group set up by IOD in 2019, I have been working with the team on new and exciting events. I love bringing people together, we can learn so much from each other, and if I don’t know the answer, I usually know someone that does!
