Jeremy Smith is a writer, speaker and sustainable tourism consultant.
In January 2020 I co-founded Tourism Declares a Climate Emergency, an initiative that supports tourism destinations, businesses and individuals in declaring a climate emergency and working together to reduce their carbon emissions.
I am the author of Transforming Travel - realising the potential of sustainable tourism (2018), and Clean Breaks - 500 New Ways to See the World (2010).
I am co-founder and editor of Travindy.com, the travel industry sustainable tourism website newsletter and website; and I write a fortnightly blog on sustainable tourism for World Travel Market.
I consult widely on sustainable tourism, with recent clients including the UK National Parks, Tripadvisor, Travel Foundation, and the European Travel Commission. I deliver regular keynote speeches and workshops for destinations and companies; and I was a member of Rotterdam’s International Advisory Board in 2019 helping develop a new vision for the city’s tourism.
