What is your favorite travel destination?

Mogok, Myanmar, stole my heart. It is a captivating travel destination for those enchanted by the allure of gemstones. Known as the "Valley of Rubies," Mogok offers a unique blend of natural beauty and rich gemmological history. The region is famous for its exquisite rubies and sapphires, attracting gem enthusiasts from around the world.

Where do you dream of traveling to?

I've always dreamed of travelling to the GalΓ‘pagos Islands because of my passion for wildlife photography. The thought of capturing the unique and diverse species there excites me. I imagine myself photographing giant tortoises and playful sea lions, with their natural behaviours undisturbed by human presence.

What was your first travel job?

In my thirties, I worked with the Simply Travel group as a VIP representative. I looked after guests staying in the luxury chalets. This role ignited my passion for travel and hospitality.

What do you want to learn more about?

I want to deepen my understanding of how the travel industry operates, especially for my gemstone tours. I want to learn more about creating engaging and sustainable travel experiences that combine education and adventure. Understanding market trends, guest expectations, and the logistics behind crafting memorable tours will allow me to refine my offerings, ensuring they are ethically sound and truly enriching for travellers looking to explore the fascinating world of gemstones.

Three words that describe why we should travel?

Adventure, Discovery, Connection.
