Co-Founder of Scarlet Macaw Trips, a social purpose travel effort concentrating on mutually beneficial travel experiences in Colombia, South America. I'm a former Fulbright research grantee who spent a year on the coast of Colombia (Cartagena) working with women and children in the situation of internal displacement and watched the booming tourism industry grow right around them. SMT seeks to be a conduit between local organizations and individuals on the ground and the tourism and travel industry.
