About me

Scott Kendall is the Editor for PlayStayEat.com and a freelance travel writer, photographer, and videographer based in The Woodlands, Texas (near Houston). He is a former Navy Officer and consultant who taught special education and coached high school tennis in the Houston area for over twenty years. He is now traveling, writing, and taking tons of photos and videos throughout the United States, Europe, and beyond.

In addition to writing and editing over 100 articles in PlayStayEat.com, Scott has articles published in EuropeUpClose, Links & Libations, Epicurean Traveler, Miles Geek, International Living, Great Escape Publishing, Travel and Talk, The Yums, and other publications. Scott’s recent travels have taken him on self-guided media trips to Germany, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Door County in Wisconsin, Denver, Breckenridge, Philadelphia, Washington DC, and the wonderful Hill Country of his native Texas. The travel writer’s life has given him many opportunities to enjoy special experiences and perks that have made travel even more rewarding and affordable.

He is excited about adding more published work to his websites, PlayStayEat.com and scottkendalltravels.com, in the coming years. Scott just celebrated his 33rd year of marriage to his lovely wife, Julie, and is the proud father of two sons, William, a Captain in the US Air Force, and Jacob, a Human Resources specialist.
