I'm am award-winning freelance travel writer from north-east England.

In addition to being an experienced travel writer, I often photograph images that I send to publications. My work has been featured in publications in the UK and abroad.

I've been named Journalist of the Year three times at the Holland Press Awards, most recently in 2019. In March 2020 I was named Travel Writer of the Decade by the Netherlands Board of Tourism and Conventions. I was awarded the 2017 British Annual Canada Travel Award (BACTA) for Best Online Content.

I cover stories about destinations, food and drink plus activities. I often bring elements of history into my features and love writing about wildlife.
