Welcome to learn about heritage interpretation, what´s hot, what´s not - walking along the Legends and Life of Krajina – Ostros thematic trail. It connects us with the ancient Vladimir & Kosara’s love story ❤️ and the life of people through centuries and today.
You can join us in Podgorica (transfer organized) or Virpazar (for self-drivers / participants from other municipalities). Spend the day in inspiring surroundings - great landscapes, traditions, local products and home-made food of the Skadar Lake area! Become familiar with heritage interpretation, the vision and actions of the Interpet Europe Network in Montenegro and find out how to become a certified interpretive guide, host, writer or planner.
PROGRAMME:
09:00 Meeting point in Podgorica, in front of the EU Info Centre Podgorica, for joint bus transport
09:15 Transport of Podgorica group’s participants to Virpazar (sponsored)
09:45 – 10:00 Meeting of participants from all cities, at the Visitor Centre in Virpazar
10:00 – 10:30 Welcome & introduction - drink & nibbles will be provided
10:30 – 12:00 Transport by bus from Virpazar to Ostros
12:00 – 15:00 Guided walking tour, including a short visit to the local tavern “Votra”
15:00 – 17:00 Back to wine & meze tasting and networking at “Votra” (sponsored)
17:00 Transport from Ostros to Virpazar and further to Podgorica (arrival at about 19:00h)
📌 Practical information for the trip: 📌
For participants who join us in Podgorica: Our meeting point is the EU Info Centre Podgorica, situated on 19. decembra street, at the corner of the buiding across the street of the City Stadium.
Participants from other cities for whom it is easier to join us in Virpazar: We will meet you there, at the Visitor Centre. If you come by car, you can leave it here. The further route from Virpazar to Ostros and back to Virpazar will be possible for all on the joint bus. 🚌
Technical description of the walking trail:
• Difficulty Level: Easy trail.
• Distance: 6km
• Max/Min elevation: 214/393 meters above sea level.
• Elevation gain/loss: 211/-216m
• Width /terrain: Foot-wide path, up to 1m wide local stone/soil path,
local gravel and bit of asphalt road.
• The tour will be guided by Bojana Sekulic, a Certified Interpretive/Hiking Guide.
🌼 Our recommendations: 🌼
• Do not wait to register! The number of participants is limited NEW: to 40 persons. First come, first serve – RSVP, so welcome to join and register through this page.
• Wear trekking shoes or sneakers comfortable for walking. Get dressed comfortable.Bring a change of clothes (shirt) and weather depending, layers (a light day back bag is best)
• Apart from the local producers & tavern treating you to home-made food and drinks, we recommend to pack for the trail a muesli bar, sandwich, fruit, nuts, to your own taste & needs, and a thermos (or other reusable, unbreakable) bottle with tea or water. 🍶
• Please try to avoid single-use plastic bottles and cans! ❌
• We will join the global movement 🌿 #TrashTagChallenge with a 🌿 #TrashTagMontenegro🌿 action along our walk! Bags and gloves will be provided.
• Take about 1l of water or tea, but please consider your needs and count on a possibility to refill the bottle with water from a well/household along the trail.
