For our first event of 2025 lets get to know each other better through a series of 8 mini-talks. Join us to laugh, learn, share, and get inspired.

Today we will also introduce our new open mic activity, if you have something to share, prepare a 1min elevator pitch and make sure to wrap it up with a call to action (Thank you TechTO for the inspiration). We will pick a few people at random to share with the room.

Paul A. Teolis is an award-winning photographer, educator, and veteran animation professional of feature films and television. Known for his Antarctic workshop photography for G Adventures, travel has taken him to more than seventy countries on six continents. His photographs have exhibited in The McMichael Gallery as part of the Polar Artists Group, the Robert McLaughlin Gallery’s “Exposed” exhibitions, and in more that 25 juried shows throughout Ontario and in Los Angeles.

Studying at the acclaimed Sheridan College School of Animation, photography paralleled his successful career in film and television. He has contributed to such notable productions as DreamWorks Prince of Egypt and Road to Eldorado, Walt Disney Studio’s The Goofy Movie and multiple television productions while at Nelvana Studios.

Venus and Maiku are a couple on YouTube that’s in a race to 100 countries. Our approach to YouTube and social media is to be more like a show that’s meant to entertain than being informational. With combining Maiku’s chaotic methods of travel and Venus’s carefully planned methods of travel, we learn about the countries through doing a set of challenges usually involving learning culinary dishes, learning something cultural along the way and ending with a big physical challenge in the end.
