Asking myself since last week what I can do, what we all can do more... so here I'd like to start a discussion thread of ways the tourism industry can help Ukraine 💛 💙- and everyone in travel who is affected. Hands-on and real. After all, travel is about people, cultures, peace and freedom. And tech is again a great accelerator for the 🌍 to work together.
Personally, I am offering a free guest room in my home to a tourism or any other Ukraine student in need. Maybe there are more of us with a similar wish.
So far I have found these platforms / initiatives to join & support, and in travel, I'm sure there is more!

Our guide was very informative and accommodating, answering all our questions about the disaster and impacts it had. It was also very safe, our guide only took us to areas that were allowed, and we carried radiation meters with us and we were checked every time we exited certain zones.
Visiting Chernobyl is a unique must see destination
Are there any health concerns when visiting?
You will have to check the exact information on their website as they have the exact facts and statistics but our tour guide was explaining that the exposure we had on our trip was the same as being on a flight or the same as a MRI or body scan. So in comparison to everyday activities such as flying or getting scans it is no different. But please check their website for the actual information 😊
I've never been to Chernobyl but I really loved watching the Netflix series that came out recently - what a story... I bet it's intimidating seeing it in real life.
Remember visiting your stand at the ITB 2018 and being blown away by the idea. Would love to visit the Ukraine and experience it. Hopefully next summer :)
