Now that the dust has settled, and The Africa Rally 2024 is concluded, let’s take a moment to fully acknowledge all of this years winners! 🌍🏆🙌
The Africa Rally is a 4,500km charity road trip from South Africa to Kenya (Challenger Route) and South Africa - Malawi - eSwatini (Discovery Route). Teams can drive any vehicle, and no previous experience is required, however discounted entry is provided for the older and more ridiculous vehicles.

Thanks Neil, we had an awesome crowd this year with vehicles as old as 1964!
What an epic rally! Do most people drive back home again, or do some continue on?
It's a mixed bag, some of the South African teams loop round and head home via Zimbabwe, or Mozambique, but the majority of international crews utilise our shipping partner out of Mombasa and head home on a plane while their vehicles follow by container. We haven't had any teams continue further up north since the Ethiopia / Sudan border has been shut to tourists due to the civil war. Perhaps in future though.

Waiting for the day that every vehicle in these kinds of rallies are completely run on EV or solar.
There was a Dutch couple last year who did an all electric expedition around Africa in a new 4x4, think it was called 4x4electric? So it can be done... at present we are offering a third off our team entry for anyone who takes up the challenge to complete The Africa Rally 2025 in an electric / solar vehicle... in case you know anyone who might be interested?
Paul if you send me the info I'll happily share with my network. I know some people here in Thailand that actually specialise in converting retro cars into EV so it could be a great fit.
