Just Trip empowers travellers to plan, book and explore their ideal destinations. Use the app to discover things to see and do, where to stay, where to eat and how to book travel experiences for gateway cities of the world.
We’ve curated over 4,200+ places of interest in 13 cities with input from locals so you can experience each city like a local. We currently have London, Rome, Berlin, Barcelona, Madrid, Amsterdam, Seoul, Singapore, Sydney, Melbourne, Bali, Paris and Florence. We’re adding more locations in each city daily.

Hello everyone! My name is Craig and I am the founder of Just Trip. I originally came up with the idea of Just Trip when on a family holiday to Madrid in 2018. I was standing in front of a beautiful statue and couldn’t find any information about it. This prompted me to think about an app that could give travellers information about cities in real time, especially for unique and local experiences.
We’ve built this app for the digital generation from day one. We wanted an app that could rival the in-depth content of a guidebook, yet is designed with a mobile-first mindset for travellers who do everything on their phones. We aim to disrupt traditional travel habits by giving independent travellers an app for life and app for all stages of the travel journey; inspiration, planning, booking, exploring and sharing.
I have a small team based in Sydney and China and our guides have been written by locals from each city, giving the guides a really authentic feel. We originally began work on this pre-Covid and have been continually working throughout Covid in the hope that travel would pick up ‘soon’- which it has!
Originally the app was intended for the Chinese market but we pivoted to prioritise English-speaking marketing when it was unclear when China would re-open. Because of this though, users can select either English or Mandarin as their language.
We’re really excited to bring this app to market and provide a new way to travel independently! We’re always open to feedback or suggestions and are keen to create an app that our community will find indispensable.
Hi Craig, thanks for sharing Just Trip with the Travel Massive community.
I’m curious about your China connection - can you share a bit more about this? We have Travel Massive chapters in Beijing and Shanghai (mostly active on WeChat - look up @miller and @bora-shnitman who lead these groups)
On writing for both Chinese and English readers - have you hit any cultural edge cases when designing the guides? For example, when recommending restaurants.
Thanks Ian. We have some content in our guides that is nuanced to the Chinese traveller + we have Mandarin audio files for our places of interest. But as we focus on giving our users, or the Chinese traveller, an authentic engagement with the local community and culture, we are not skewing our recommendations. We focus for example on Authentic Local Cuisine, or places liked by locals, or Something Different in our guides...rather than Chinese / Asian restaurants. With our guides, a Chinese traveller will connect with a like minded global community and travel more like a local, than like a Chinese traveller. I hope this makes sense!
This seems like a great app! Glad to hear you will be adding even more cities
Thanks Erin. We are excited by the journey, and yes, hope to cover much if not all of the world one day!
