👋 I’d like to introduce Pebbls, a new travel journaling and mapping app designed to help adventurers capture and share their journeys, and offers a unique tool for travel operators to showcase their tours.
With Pebbls, you can track your route and drop in custom “Pebbls” – pins with photos, notes, and videos. These live maps are publicly available on the Pebbls website and can easily be embedded on your own site, giving potential customers an interactive view of your offerings.
For travel operators, Pebbls is a great way to:
- Promote your tours: Share real journeys with interactive maps that bring your trips to life.
- Build trust: Show potential customers exactly what your tours are like through the eyes of past travellers.
- Easy integration: Embed maps directly into your website, making it easy for customers to explore your offerings.
Pebbls is free to use, with an optional paid version offering extra features like private journeys. The free version covers everything most users need.
I’m working solo on this project and would love feedback from fellow travellers and travel operators. What features would be most useful for you? What would help you better showcase your tours and engage with customers - (perhaps the ability to add your tour logo and link to your tour info page, etc.)?
Cheers,
Simon
PS – The name “Pebbls” is inspired by Hansel and Gretel, who left a trail of pebbles to mark their path.

Hi Simon, thanks for sharing Pebbls with the Travel Massive community.
What you've developed solo is absolutely incredible, bravo! How long have you been working on the project, and how did you attract your community and build the trust for them to share their adventures on your platform?
PS: I'm in awe of the hitchhiking trip from Patagonia to Morocco: www.pebbls.com/adventure-map/nature_nomad_world/world-trip---zero-impact-expedition/
Thanks Ian – really appreciate that! Pebbls started as something I built just for myself. My wife and I were cycling from the UK to Gibraltar for our honeymoon about eight years ago, and I wanted a simple way to track where we’d been. The first version was very rough.
Since then, I’ve rebuilt the whole platform from scratch twice and developed it when I get the chance over the years. I was then able to get some friends and family to begin testing it on their own adventures which was really helpful in refining features and ironing out bugs as well as showing other people how it could be used. More recently, the production app has been released into the wild and a number of people have been using it, which has been amazing to see.
The next step is showing it to more people who travel this way and building up the community - I'm really keen to hear from people who have ideas of features that they would find useful and ways that it can be developed further.
