A big thanks to everyone who joined us in Sydney at Hickson House Distilling Co for our end of year meetup. The informal evening provided members with an opportunity to catch up and meet new members across a variety of travel industry sectors, including aviation, travel tech, sustainability and travel writing.
The Hickson House Distillery (follow them on Instagram) is located in a converted heritage warehouse nestled on the the doorstep of the Harbour Bridge in Sydney’s Rocks. Hickson House was founded by Mikey Enright and Julian Train (of the award-winning Barrelhouse Group) with the company of Head Distiller Tim Stones (formerly of Manly Spirits) and produces award winning gins, whiskeys and aperitifs. Be sure to check them out when you’re next in Sydney.
Thanks to the team at the distillery for hosting Sydney Travel Massive and providing us with a complimentary welcome G&T and a gift voucher. The drinks were so good, we stayed for a few more until the bar closed!

It was wonderful to catch up before the end of the year! I'm always delighted by the synchronicities that appear at events like this, and hearing how people have made new connections. Next year will be even more fun and we'll have a regular schedule of events and welcome ideas for venues in the CBD and feedback to keep making these events even better. And we encourage you to invite your friends from the industry!
Thanks Sarah for hosting! It was great chatting to yourself and others, and I'm looking forward to more events in the future.
Great to have you there Shandos :)
Great to be attend another Sydney meetup, and only a stone's throw away from the YHA where we originally started all those years ago!
It was also fantastic to meet some first time attendees who've been online members for a number of years. As always, the real community is in-person, and if you're not there, you miss out. The meetup created a number of new business connections that would never have materialised without an event like this — looking forward to seeing what happens.
Thanks Sarah for organising!
My pleasure and thanks for all of your support and coming up from Tassie for the event! I'm looking forward to the next one!
