Hi, my name is Benoit and I'm passionate about how technology can disrupt the travel industry and ultimately lead to a better end-user experience.
I have been conducting numerous interviews over the past few weeks to gain insights into the way people curate, organize and share travel content, with the final objective of identifying opportunities to innovate in this space.
I intend to share my preliminary findings across a series of discussions on Travel Massive to engage with the community.
The first topic relates to the main information channels used by travellers to discover a specific destination and learn about where to go and what to do. Below a summary from the interviews:
- Friends / Family: For 67% of interviewees, friends and family’s word-of-mouth play a significant role in picking the next destination and 42% rely on their recommendations to know what to do on the ground.
- Social Media: 75% of interviewees mention social media, and specifically Instagram, as as key ...

✨ We are launching Pingotel today ✨
Pingotel is a tool for small hospitality businesses. You can use it to manage your two Airbnb apartments, guesthouse, coliving space, cabin, bike rentals... whatever you want.
Setting up and getting direct bookings takes less than 2 minutes.
Pingotel is insanely simple and flexible - see demo:
Or watch on loom: www.loom.com/share/c69ec78facae43fe830ffb66a703c329?t=242
There are hundreds (maybe thousands) of such tools, but none are designed for tiny businesses, and none are FREE.
I would love to say that I built it all myself with AI, but that wouldn't be true.
AI is not there yet if you want to build a secure and scalable app. I really enjoy working on it with my friend Daniel, who wrote all the code (with a little help from Cursor). We have big plans.
We started exploring this idea in January, launched the prototype in February (I shared the demo on LinkedIn), and now have a fully functional version ready. The first people are already using it.

This is awesome, well done! I help a couple of small accommodation providers here in Tasmania and this tool would be perfect for their needs. I assume the user can change the currency to AUD (no need for multi-currency)?
Thanks! Yes, no problem with AUD.
Congratulations! Having been exploring this space by talking to individual Airbnb hosts, I do think there is a need for a dead simple PMS with direct booking. Glad you're working on this.
Thank you! Does your Openbnb integrates with such tools or you get the prices by scraping hosts websites?
Officially integrating with PMSs is next.
This is very interesting would like to check it out and see how we can potentially make use of it for the small businesses we work with for I AM CAPE TOWN
Let me know if you need help :)
