Planning to take a month-long excursion in April, and looking for suggestions on cities/towns to visit, cheap hotels/hostels, restaurants to eat, special events in certain countries I should attend, and just overall travel-related ideas!
This is a super broad question, since there's 44 countries in Europe!
Here's a couple of ideas:
Bansko, Bulgaria — home of the bankskonomadfestival.com in June. Ljubljana, Slovenia — you can find a Slovenia Travel Massive chapter here. Liddes, Switzerland — home of a great coliving community: coliving.frilingue.ch
You can also research posts in the #Europe topic, here's a few examples:
Thank you. I guess to narrow it down, my relative general itinerary and direction is England, Wales, France, Belgium, Germany, Czech Republic, Hungary, Austria, Switzerland/Italy, back into France, England, then home.
So, any recommendations for those countries would be great. But you know plans and directions might change depending on if there is something worthwhile to explore.
That's quite a lot of countries to visit. Whatever mode of transport, you're going to spend at least 25% of your time doing transport. I'd reduce the number of places you visit and get the transport down to 10%.
Look up Generator Hostels (they hosted our Berlin Travel Massive party last week) as they've got a lot of properties across Europe, are cool places to stay (they also have private rooms) and you'll get plugged into everything going on.
I highly recommend doing the Alsace region..Strasbourg (France) and then Freiburg (Germany). They are both mid-sized town that are gorgeous and will give you a feel for old-school Europe. They are right next to each other and frequent trains from Paris. Amazing food and unique food.
Not groundbreaking by any means but if you'll be there in April, the Netherlands during tulip season is beautiful! Tourist-y but I didn't find it overwhelmingly packed.

I would also suggest Ljubljana, such a lovely and underrated place.
Other than that Budapest is also very nice.
If you prefer more touristy/popular destinations then I'd vote for: London, Barcelona, Berlin, Grenada.

We spent a little over 2 weeks in Budapest in October/November. It was great.
