🌳 A collection of sounds of woodlands and forests from all around the world, creating a growing soundmap bringing together aural tones and textures from the world’s woodlands.
Over 550 people from more than 50 countries have now contributed short audio postcards. The map is being updated regularly as more people record their local woodlands. So far it has sounds from every continent except Antarctica.
This project is part of Timber Festival in the UK where selected artists are responding to the sounds that are gathered, creating music, audio, artwork or something else.
Sounds of the Forest is supported using public funding by Arts Council England. The second phase of the project is supported by PRS Foundation’s Open Fund for Organisations.

If you love the outdoors, then you'll love this project. Great for listening to while writing or if you just need a bit of inspiration.
PS: I need to get Tasmania added to this map!
This is brilliant!
I love the sounds of nature and now I can put on some of these on the background while working in the office 🎶
