A UK-based expedition team has announced an innovative project to explore the driest nonpolar desert in the world. The project aims to prove that remote, challenging, vehicle-based expeditions can be accomplished using cleaner, carbon-mitigating strategies.
Into Clean Air (www.intocleanair.org) is a 3-week expedition across the Atacama Desert in Spring 2025, combining adventure with environmental consciousness. The team will navigate three 4x4 vehicles through Chile and Bolivia's challenging high desert terrain, using a biofuel blend and solar power to demonstrate that remote expeditions can be accomplished with reduced carbon impact while collecting valuable scientific data on atmospheric and ground pollutants in this unique ecosystem.
The expedition team looking for partnerships and funding, so please get in touch if you think you can help or if you have any contacts with climate aware companies.
