Hi all,
I would love to tell you about Pogo (pogo.travel) - a travel app that has been making waves in recent months. Pogo’s current advances in AI reasoning can create a completely tailored trip itinerary for each user based on their interests.
With Pogo Plus, (the subscription option to Pogo) app users will have exclusive access to Pogo MAGIC which using advanced AI technology will create bespoke itineraries based on their own personal interests and what they have interacted with on the Pogo app.
Users can hit the ‘MAGIC’ button in the Pogo travel app and it will automatically create a trip itinerary that is completely tailored to their likes and interests.
This AI technology is so sophisticated that it will incorporate the best times to visit tourist attractions (based on how busy it is), the travel time between each point of interest and even the weather!
It will also make insightful recommendations based on other points of interest, what’s popular at the moment as well as where to stay.
The trip itinerary uses the information from the pinboards the user has created as well as other pinboards that they may have interacted with. For example, if a user is interested in music, the itinerary will include music-focused suggestions such as live music venues, music-related attractions, record stores and more.
Pogo Plus users can also make edits to their tailor-made itinerary, unticking any suggestions that are not needed and can recreate their trip itinerary at any time simply by pressing the MAGIC button.
Pogo Plus will provide an updated Map View which will allow Pogo Plus users to showcase ideas for their trip destination and what’s popular in the destination that you are planning to visit. Therefore making it even easier to find exciting things to see and do in close proximity to where they’re staying, to plan their time more effectively. Simply display and hide ideas by tapping the lightbulb icon on Map View.
Pogo Plus users can save even more money by becoming a Pogo Plus member. Despite enjoying preferential rates throughout the free version of the app, Plus users can take advantage of exclusive member discounts of up to 20% on hotel and flight bookings.
👉 Users can try Pogo Plus completely free of charge for the first seven days and then can opt to either pay £4.99 per month or an annual subscription of just £39.99 saving a whopping 33% on the total cost. 1. I'm curious about the story behind Pogo. What made you decide to build the app, and how long have you been developing it?
2. Are you mostly targeting UK travellers, or are you looking for users from all over?
3. Is your business model subscriptions (paid users) or do you have other revenue generation inside the app (eg, affiliate sales)?

Pogo was originally Pluto, we acquired the app a couple of years ago and re-branded it to Pogo (Plan and Go - around the world) last year. We kept the original functionality of the Pinboards that we knew were much loved by the apps users and gave it a fresh and fun new design.
In the last 12 months, the team have been working on creating new functionality that adds value to the Pogo user's experience, one of which is Pogo Plus, which gives you even more access to hotel discounts, but primarily it gives you Pogo Magic.
By simply pressing a button, it creates an AI-powered travel itinerary that outlines a day-by-day overview of what to see and where to go, all based on the information and hot spots you have added to your Pinboard.
Anyone that has an iPhone can use Pogo, and we are really proud of what we have achieved so far. The best is yet to come and we have BIG plans for the coming months.
In terms of revenue, it's via subscriptions and bookings (hotels and flights) and we are already hearing some really positive feedback from both people using the free version and Pogo Plus which costs just £4.99 per month or £39.99 for an annual subscription.
