Bertie is the CEO of Sampan Travel, a tour operator based in Yangon creating tailor-made tours through Myanmar and India. After graduating from the University of Liverpool with a BA in English Literature in 2013, Bertie moved to Berlin two work in communications. Two years later he arrived in Myanmar and set about building a tour operator that he intended to both offer exceptional, immersive experience to travellers while at the same time have a positive impact on the lives of local communities. This mission remains even more important in the current context.
I want to meet interesting, exiting people with a passion for travel and a mission to push forward the tourism industry.
These are trends that have roots pre-COVID and have accelerated since. And I agree that they will continue to grow in 2023. “Cold spots” when people get away from wifi, and a greater emphasis on transformation through nature & travel.
