Map Your City is a new kind of map where explorers and storytellers meet. And it just got nominated startup of the year by Hackernoon.
Map Your City is where explorers get valuable tips & insights, latest on events, get festival tickets and discover spots they did not know before. It is where businesses tell their stories, either by joining a community or creating one.
A Map Your City Community is simply a group of people mapping places and telling stories together – like a city or town, event organizers, travel vloggers, photographers, artists or architecture lovers.
How does it work?
When you create your community on Map Your City - you become the owner of that community and can invite others to join. Together you can map, tell stories, promote places and create valuable location experiences for your community's followers.
Here's just some of the things that you can do:
• Write blog posts and email campaigns by using our easy to embed Location Cards.
• Create a beautiful map of all your places on your website in just minutes.
• Send custom notifications to your followers in the app.
• Add ticketing and booking platforms.
• Share your places everywhere.

Thanks fo featuring us guys! You rock! I am Caroline Vrauwdeunt Map Your City's founder. 👋 We started building Map Your City in 2015 - it was not more than a Minimal Viable Product back when we launched it during an International Trade Mission to Canada. We were lucky enough to have the Dutch King and Queen 👸🤴on that mission and our app was launched by the Royal couple in Toronto. But that's a completely different story ;) Now many changes and updates later - I can still laugh at how naive I was about the road it takes to get your product to success.
✨👉To celebrate we're nominated startup of the year - we've got a special deal for members of Travel Massive! if you stick around after the two week trial, you get 6 months completely free if you're willing to write an honest review of our platform on your blog. Just shoot me a message.👈✨
Thanks for sharing your app and startup story with our community!
I think one of the strongest features of your app is the curated locations from brands and destinations (eg. CitizenM, Discover Toronto) — I really enjoy this. Is there a way to show an organization's locations on the map instead of the list view?
Thanks a million Ian. Glad you enjoy it! Currently organizations like CitizenM, Discover Toronto can be explored on the map, but not be filtered to show the places on the map of their organization only.
However the map on their website does show only their locations. To add the same feature in the app for all organizations - although it when you say it it may sound simple enough you would think - proofed technically and in user experience design extremely challenging when we last looked into it. But it will remain on our things to monitor list for sure.
That said doesn't mean it is currently impossible for an organization, we have worked with sponsored filter "tags". But we would do that on explicit request.
And of course anyone can hit the ♥︎ and create their own favorites map of places - across organizations.
If you like maps, you will like this app. Very cool and functionable.
Thanks so much for the kudos Ric 🙌
