In 1997 at age 19, I arrived in Kenya from DRC. Back then, Lingala music was all the rage. I arrived in Nairobi, a Francophone. I did speak English. A year later, I left Nairobi fluent in English, and a fan of chips/sausage. I have fond memories of Kenya. My first girlfriend was Kenyan eh!
Fast forward to 2023, I founded a travel marketplace @ZaNiheza (Top 100 startups on Travel Massive this year). My aim and passion is to offer Afrocentric and cultural experiences! Africa should visited for more than wildlife. I am changing the negative narratives of Africa with travel and tech.
This November, I am travelling to Africa, and I am putting together an East Africa Tour! I will hold a roundtable on travel tech. More information here :shimacharles.com/tour/
